Your Star Trek Online journey begins here. Choose your allegiance: Federation, Klingon, or Romulan. Create the captain from your mind’s eye from over twenty classic Star Trek species, three career paths, and detailed customization options. Then, boldly go where no one has gone before.

Vulcan

Be a Vulcan Science Officer in Starfleet.

Science officers use their knowledge to support their ship and crew, weakening or incapacitating enemies, creating energy fields that hinder or damage foes and treating the wounds of their fellow officers. Vulcans are always prepared to consider the needs of the many over the needs of the few.

Andorian

Be an Andorian Tactical Officer in Starfleet.

Tactical officers use stealth and squad tactics, while having the most options to improve their damage in combat. In battle, tactical officers can draw enemy fire to help their team or beam down a security squad to take out a difficult foe. Andoria is one of the four founding worlds of the Federation.

Gorn

Be a Gorn Engineer serving in the Klingon Defense Force.

A cold-blooded, reptilian species, Gorn are many times stronger than humans and have sharp claws on their hands and feet. They are territorial and stubborn, and have racial memories that go back hundreds of years. The Gorn rule a large region in the Alpha Quadrant, and have an uneasy peace with the Federation.

Human

Be a Human Starfleet Engineering Officer.

After years of study and training at Starfleet Academy, young officers often join the crews of starships to seek out new life and new civilizations. Exploration, diplomacy, research and defense are but a few of the duties Starfleet officers can tackle in their careers as representatives of the United Federation of Planets.

Romulan (Male)

Be a Romulan Tactical Officer on a Romulan Republic Warbird.

Romulans hail from one of the strongest empires in the galaxy. Unlike their Vulcan “cousins,” the Romulans are a proud, passionate and militaristic people. The cloaking device on their starships allows them to strike without warning, often giving them a tactical edge in battle.

Romulan (Female)

Be a Romulan Science Officer serving the Romulan Republic.

The greatest strength of a science officer is her versatility, even when behind enemy lines. Romulan Republic operatives are infiltrating the Tal Shiar to learn more about their secrets and how best to defeat them.

Klingon

Be a Klingon Tactical Officer serving in the Klingon Defense Force.

Exemplary service and glory in battle is not the only way to advance in the Klingon Defense Force. If a warrior thinks his captain has acted dishonorably, he can challenge him to single combat. The victor takes command... and the loser dies in disgrace.

Reman

Be a Reman Engineering Officer for the Romulan Republic.

Remans were used as slaves and shock troops by the Romulans until the late 24th century, when a group of Remans led by the human clone Shinzon assassinated the Romulan senate and captured the government in a military coup. Remans are now part of the Romulan Republic.

Orion

Be an Orion Science Officer in the Klingon Defense Force.

The pheromones of female Orions make males of many species susceptible to suggestion. While many Orions are smugglers and raiders who plunder unwary ships for the Orion Syndicate, others have chosen the path of honor and serve the Klingon Defense Force.

Benzite

Be a Benzite Science Officer in Starfleet.

Science officers use their knowledge to support their ship and crew, weakening or incapacitating enemies, creating energy fields that hinder or damage foes and treating the wounds of their fellow officers. They are sometimes seen wearing a breathing apparatus in oxygen/nitrogen atmospheres.

From cruisers and escorts to science vessels and dreadnoughts, you’ll be able to experience the final frontier on your own terms.

Constitution Cruiser

Minimum Rank: Lieutenant
Weapons: 2 Fore, 1 Aft

Powerful and versatile, the Constitution-class Cruisers are front-line vessels in Starfleet. Built to undertake long-term missions of exploration and diplomacy, these ships are often found where no one has gone before. A Constitution¬-class ship is often in great danger, yet many in Starfleet consider being assigned to one a great honor.

Daedalus Science Vessel

Minimum Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Weapons: 2 Fore, 2 Aft

A starship design from the early years of Starfleet, the Daedalus-class Science Vessel still serves with distinction. With strong shields and a powerful sensor suite, the Daedalus-class is well equipped for missions of research and exploration in the final frontier.

Pioneer Utility Cruiser

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Lieutenant
Weapons: 2 Fore, 1 Aft

Designed for utility, the Pioneer-class often undertakes missions normally assigned to larger vessels, such as the Constitution-class Cruiser. The frigate’s size and crew compliment limits the duration of such missions, however.

Ranger-class Battlecruiser

Minimum Rank: Rear Admiral, Lower Half
Weapons: 4 Fore, 4 Aft

The agile Ranger-class was one of the most respected battlecruisers of the 23rd century. A tactical powerhouse, the Ranger was built for combat resolution. As a result, these vessels were often deployed on the front line in conflicts with the Klingons and Romulans.

T'Liss Light Warbird

Minimum Rank: Lieutenant
Weapons: 2 Fore, 1 Aft

Often used for covert operations, the T’liss Light Warbird is equipped with a cloaking device that can evade most forms of detection. The distinctive “bird-of-prey” design found on the ventral hull is often the last thing an enemy sees, thanks to the ship’s suite of potent plasma weapons.

Wells

Minimum Rank: Rear Admiral, Lower Half
Weapons: 3 Fore, 3 Aft

A Starfleet timeship from the 29th century, the Wells-class Temporal Science Vessel is often on the front line in temporal conflicts. Capable of traveling through time as well as space, this science vessel carries Temporal Agents on missions of the utmost importance.

B'rel Bird-of-Prey

Minimum Rank: Klingon Defense Force Lieutenant
Weapons: 2 Fore, 1 Aft

The famed bird-of-prey has been a mainstay of the Klingon Defense Force fleets since the late 23rd century and serves the Empire as a scout, raider and patrol ship. Quick and maneuverable, a Bird-of-Prey can slip into position with its cloaking device and then go for the kill with a devastating alpha strike.

D’Deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser

Minimum Rank: Romulan Republic Commander
Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft

The legendary D’Deridex was the foundation of the Romulan fleets in the 24th century. Larger and more resilient than the T’liss or Dhelan warbirds, the D’Deridex has equivalent firepower to a Starfleet Galaxy Class starship but greatly exceeds the Galaxy in sheer size. A common tactic for D’Deridex Commanders is to broadside their foes with a spread of powerful beam weapons.

Tactical Escort (Defiant)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Captain
Weapons: 4 Fore, 2 Aft

Originally designed as a ship to fight the Borg, the Defiant Class is a small, heavily-armed escort used to great effect by Captain Benjamin Sisko during the Dominion War. It is Starfleet's first dedicated combat vessel, and does not have space for crew families, expansive science labs or recreational facilities. The Tactical Escort is one of the most agile ships in Starfleet.

Exploration Cruiser (Galaxy)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Captain
Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft

Introduced in the 2350s, the Galaxy Class cruiser is one of the most iconic ships in Starfleet. Large, powerful and tough to defeat, the Galaxy Class served both as Starfleet's flagship (in the form of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D captained by Jean-Luc Picard) and as an exploration and diplomatic vessel. Service aboard a Galaxy Class starship is an extremely prestigious assignment.

Long Range Science Vessel (Intrepid)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Captain
Weapons: 3 Fore, 3 Aft

The Intrepid Class was designed for extended space exploration missions. The most famed Intrepid starship, the U.S.S. Voyager, survived seven years of isolation in the Delta Quadrant. The Long Range Science Vessel is prized by Starfleet Captains for its balance of maneuverability, endurance and power. The subsystem targeting ability found on Science Vessels gives its Captain the ability to take out an opponent’s systems, reducing their effectiveness in combat.

Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird

Minimum Rank: Romulan Republic Subadmiral
Weapons: 5 Fore, 3 Aft

Developed in the late 24th century by a group of Remans under the command of Shinzon, a clone of Jean-Luc Picard, the Scimitar has become one of the most feared ships in the Romulan Republic fleets. It is one of the largest ships available and can launch a barrage of torpedoes while cloaked, giving it a distinct advantage over its enemies.

Multi-Mission Surveillance Explorer (Vesta)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Rear Admiral
Weapons: 3 Fore, 3 Aft

The Multi-Mission Surveillance Explorer has served as a testbed for Starfleet Engineers and now features some of the most advanced technology available. The Vesta and its sister ships are powerful starships with the size and strength of a cruiser but the subsystem targeting and sensor analysis abilities prized by Captains of science vessels. It can load cannons and has a launch bay for runabouts or other combat pets.

Negh'var Battle Cruiser

Minimum Rank: Klingon Defense Force Captain
Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft

Once restricted for use by the Klingon Chancellor and other high officials, the Negh'var Battle Cruiser is now available for Captains in the Klingon Defense Force. The forked forward section of the Negh'var houses the main forward batteries, while the command section is protected in the rear. The thick "neck" allows for more space for crew and internal systems.

Multi-Vector Advanced Escort (Prometheus)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Vice Admiral
Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft

The Prometheus Class is designed for deep space tactical assignments. It is one of the most versatile ships ever designed by Starfleet, and features a multi-vector assault mode that allows the ship to divide into three semi-autonomous sections that are all capable of targeting and engaging an enemy. In the late 24th century, Romulans tried to steal the prototype of the Prometheus Class, but were thwarted by the efforts of two Emergency Medical Holograms.

Assault Cruiser (Sovereign)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Rear Admiral
Weapons: 4 Fore, 4 Aft

The most famous Sovereign Class Assault Cruiser is the U.S.S. Enterprise-E, which was commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Like all cruisers, the Assault Cruiser allows the Captain to issue commands that provide bonuses in combat to the ship and its teammates.

Heavy Escort Carrier (Akira, Armitage)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Vice Admiral
Weapons: 4 Fore, 3 Aft

The Armitage Class escort is an updated version of the Akira that is a small escort-carrier hybrid. It has the power of an escort, but also has a shuttle bay from which it can launch shuttles, runabouts, or other small craft to assist it in combat. It comes equipped with a wing of Peregrine Fighters and a Torpedo Point Defense System that will launch salvos of photon torpedoes at multiple targets.

Odyssey Star Cruiser (Odyssey)

Minimum Rank: Starfleet Vice Admiral
Weapons: 4 Fore, 4 Aft

The Odyssey Class starships are some of the largest vessels ever created by Starfleet. They are the most versatile cruiser ever developed by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, and feature Universal Lieutenant Commander and Ensign Bridge Officer stations, as well as a unique split saucer pylon that reduces subspace turbulence, allowing for higher warp speeds and increasing the duration at which the ship can use its slipstream drive. The U.S.S. Enterprise-F, commanded by Captain Va’Kel Shon, is the flagship of the Starfleet.

Explore the Star Trek galaxy with hundreds of ships to choose from. Your captain and crew can pilot everything from the classic Enterprise to a Klingon Bird-of-Prey or Romulan Warbird. Gorn Rock

Created by the enigmatic race known as the Metrons, Gorn Rock once served as a battleground for the captains of two starships. Since the resolution of that conflict, the Federation and the Gorn Hegemony have agreed to peacefully explore the planet.

Taurus II

A Class-M world near Murasaki-312, a quasar-like phenomenon. An inhospitable planet, Taurus II is the home of a race of order 480-G anthropoids colloquially known as “Taureans.” The shuttlecraft Galileo once crashed on the planet; not all of her crew survived the experience.

K13 Starbase

Built by Starfleet, there are many Starbases located throughout Federation space. They are used for a variety of purposes, including commerce, diplomacy, research, and defense. Due to their tactical value, Starbases are often on the front line of interstellar conflicts.

Deep Space Nine

Built by the Cardassians as the mining station Terok Nor, this starbase near Bajor was one of the most strategically important locations in the Alpha Quadrant during much of the 24th century. Taken over by the Federation after the end of the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor, DS9 was relocated to the Denorios Belt after the discovery of a stable wormhole in 2369.

Earth Spacedock

Earth is one of the founding worlds of the United Federation of Planets and the seat of the Federation government. Earth Spacedock, in Earth 2019s orbit, is a hub for Starfleet activity, and captains from across the quadrant gather there for everything from trade to socializing at Club 47.

Sol System

The home system of the Human race is home to Starfleet Academy, Earth Spacedock and the Federation government. Earth is one of the busiest and most guarded planets in the Beta Quadrant.

Guardian of Forever

In the distant Gateway system waits the Guardian of Forever, an ancient artifact of immense power. The Guardian can transport people from the present to other times and locations throughout history. The Guardian was constructed eons ago by a lost race for an unknown purpose. Ask the right questions, and the Guardian may surrender one of its secrets.

New Romulus

After the loss of the Romulan homeworld in 2387, the survivors of the cataclysm struggled to survive in small colonies spread across dozens of worlds. The Romulan Republic has welcomed all Romulans and Remans to join them on New Romulus, a verdant world visited by their ancestors after the Sundering. Now a new city is rising among the ruins, and Romulans have a new home and a new way of life.

Qo’noS

The Klingon homeworld is one of the most fiercely protected planets in the galaxy. The First City is the heart of the Empire, and the Chancellor and High Council rule from their chamber at the center of the city.

Vulcan

This forbidding world is the home of the Vulcans, a people of logic and loyalty who are one of the founding members of the United Federation of Planets. Now a memorial to Spock rises from the desert sands of Vulcan's Forge.

Starfleet Academy

Your career in Starfleet begins at the Academy near San Francisco. Starfleet cadets have been trained at this storied location since the mid-22nd century. Walk the same grounds as Archer, Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway and prepare for a life as a Starfleet officer.

Solanae Dyson Sphere

Discovered at the edge of the Delta Quadrant in late 2409, the Solanae Dyson sphere has been the site of conflict between an alliance of forces from the Delta Quadrant and the Voth. While the alliance seeks to neutralize the dangerous alien technology in the sphere to ensure the safety of the entire galaxy, the Voth want to unleash the power and use it for their own ends.

Bajor

Bajor is the homeworld of the Bajorans. After decades of Cardassian rule during the Occupations and a tumultuous period before and after the Dominion War, the Bajorans have become one of the newest members of the Federation. Bajorans are a spiritual and passionate people who value their independence, so the transition to Federation governance has not been a completely smooth process.

Unimatrix 001

The Borg Collective has returned to the Alpha and Beta quadrants with a vengeance, and the bravest and boldest officers are needed to delve into the heart of their installations and retrieve the secret to defeating them.

U.S.S. Voyager

Lost for seven years in the Delta Quadrant in the late 24th century, the U.S.S. Voyager has been refurbished for a new century of service under the command of Admiral Tuvok. The admiral is using the ship as his flagship for Operation Delta Rising.

With hundreds of destinations, Star Trek Online lets you explore the furthest reaches of all four quadrant of the galaxy. From the familiar Alpha Quadrant to the far reaches of the Delta Quadrant, you’ll visit planets such as Vulcan and New Romulus, and dock on space stations Deep Space Nine and Spacedock (Earth).
